Financial Analyst

We have a new role open on our team for a financial analyst. You will spend your day analyzing vast amounts of financial and operational data and preparing various accounting and financial reports based on this data and your research-backed opinions. To excel in this role, you need proven knowledge of various financial forecasting and corporate finance models.

We are looking for a detail-oriented and senior financial analyst to join our finance team. The Financial Analyst will report to the CFO and work closely with the rest of the Company’s operations and construction teams. We are looking for someone has strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills and will be able to present financial information, key performance indicators, and models in a concise and easily comprehensible manner.

The Financial Analyst will be responsible for:

  • Tracking KPIs and preparing financial reports. Identifying financial performance trends and financial risk and making recommendations. Communicating results and recommendations to senior management around cost reduction, streamlining operations and increased revenue generation.
  • Developing financial projections and building financial models for budgeting, evaluating investments, business development proposals, strategic and other business decisions. Preparing accounting and other required reports and projections based on analyses performed. Providing insights to senior management around financial modelling, forecasts, and profitability.
  • Tracking and reporting milestones, expenditures, and metrics to comply with grant and debt obligations.
  • Reviewing existing processes and procedures to develop recommendations for business improvements
  • Researching macroeconomic and microeconomic conditions.
  • Supporting sales and marketing team with evaluating new and existing products and services.

Key Requirements

The successful candidate will have at least two years of experience in financial planning, analysis, and modeling.

Other key requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • Ability to present financial information to a non-financial audience.
  • Working knowledge of financial strategies.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Detail-oriented and able to perform in a high-pressure environment.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Business Central, Dynamics 365, PowerBI, or related financial systems. Working knowledge of SQL queries is preferred.

Location and Other Work Requirements

The Financial Analyst will be expected to report to work in the Company’s headquarters in Richmond, Virginia. The headquarters are located in the James Center in the heart of downtown with easy access to I-95 and the Downtown Expressway.
