KING WILLIAM, Va. – The Pamunkey Indian Tribe and All Points Broadband celebrated the fiber-to-the-home broadband network activation at the Pamunkey Indian Reservation, making service available to 48 unserved homes and nine community anchor institutions on the Reservation. The Pamunkey Indian Reservation project is a public-private partnership funded through investments by All Points Broadband, Dominion Energy Virginia, King William County, the Department of Housing and Community Development’s Virginia Telecommunications Initiative and the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA). Through a grant provided by NTIA, internet service will be provided to members of the Tribe at no cost for a term of five years.
“The Pamunkey Indian Tribe thanks the current federal administration for its support of high-speed internet service on Indian lands,” said Pamunkey Indian Tribe Chief Robert Gray. “We look forward to life-enriching opportunities such as cultural outreach, education, healthcare, economic growth and enhanced government operations that will serve our people and grow our nation.”

This collaborative effort is empowering the community, fostering greater inclusion in the digital economy, and ensuring that no one is left behind in the 21st century.”

Mark R. Warner. “I’m thrilled to see federal funding work together with private industry to extend coverage to 48 homes and nine community buildings on the Pamunkey Indian Reservation. This is a great step forward to close the digital divide, and I’m ready to keep advocating for federal funding to fill gaps and bring more tribes, towns, and families online.”
